PPNA's guest at today's meeting was Melvin Jadulang of Graham Projects. Thanks to a $100,000 grant that PPNA received from the State of Maryland, PPNA has partnered with Graham Projects to design and implement paint designs on certain intersections in the neighborhood. These designs raise the visibility of the bumpouts and slow down traffic, making the neighborhood overall safer for pedestrians and residents.
In the video above, you can see designs that are planned for the three intersections:
Baltimore and Linwood
Fayette and Luzerne
Baltimore and Lakewood
The last steps are to go through the city's permitting process and then set dates for installation. Some attendees asked about whether there will be public participation in the installation. Melvin explained that at the Baltimore/Linwood and the Fayette/Luzerne intersections, members of the public can participate by helping to paint the sidewalks. However, the Baltimore/Lakewood installation will be entirely on the road itself and that must be done by professionals.
