The Friends of Patterson Park

27 South Patterson Park Avenue, Baltimore MD 21224

A nonprofit membership organization, The Friends of Patterson Park promotes stewardship, preservation, improvement and enjoyment of Patterson Park—the best backyard in Baltimore! The Friends helps to implement the Master Plan for the park by means of advocacy, fundraising, and coordination of park beautification, tree planting, and maintenance. Thanks to the Friends—and its donors, partners and volunteers—working closely with the City of Baltimore Department of Recreation & Parks, restoration of our park’s historic structures is possible. The iconic Pagoda was restored in 2002, the beautiful Boat Lake renewed in 2003, and the pre-civil war era Marble Fountain rejuvenated in 2004. The pool was redone and opened in 2006, and the “Little Park” (or “Ellwood Extension”) is next in line for improvement. In addition, the Friends and its partners* organize and host fantastic, sometimes offbeat events each year, such as free outdoor concerts, children’s art programs, environmental education activities, and the spectacular Halloween Lantern Parade.
